since 1981 boardmasters festival has been held in newquay, cornwall. in 2005 music was incorporated into the previously solely surf festival, since then it has exploded with popularity and is now a household name when it comes to uk festivals. in 2019 the festival was cancelled for the first time ever due to weather conditions and again in 2020 due to the coronavirus.
